Volume 10. 5 Tips to prepare your skin for summer.

1. Protect your skin.
Consider SPF application the most essential step in your skin care routine this summer. Ensure you are applying a generous layer of SPF first thing in the morning and are re applying throughout the day. The damage of the suns runs may not be evident immediately but over time the sun is the number one culprit for premature ageing and poor skin tone. Not only will SPF protect your skin against UV damage but will also work to prevent damage from environmental pollution.

2. Exfoliate.
This step is essential for a radiant complexion. The build up of makeup, sweat and SPF may cause your pores to become clogged leading to blackheads and acne. Be sure to exfoliate your skin at least twice a week to remove dead skin cells dirt. However, be mindful not to over exfoliate as this can throw off your skin moisture balance and cause unnecessary dehydration and stress.
 
3. Ensure you are double cleansing to avoid unnecessary breakouts!
By giving your skin a thorough double cleanse, you are not only ridding it of dirt and grime but are also enabling your other skin care products to penetrate the skin more effectively. Ensure you are double cleansing with a nutrient rich cleanser that works to nourish the skin to avoid stripping your skin of essentials moisture.
 
4. Apply your serums to damp skin.
This little trick will assist your serums to penetrate deeper into the skin leaving you with a flawless, radiant glow. Think of damp skin like a sponge. When it is dry it is a lot more difficult for moisture to penetrate as opposed to sitting on the outer layer of the skin.
 
5. Use a jade roller.
Other than feeling like you are at a DIY day spa when using a jade roller, it seriously works wonders to detoxify and de puff the skin. The gentle pressure of jade roller works to assist with lymphatic drainage while gently toning and lifting the skin.
